You might have been expecting a new Tesla Cybertruck in California soon, but there’s a brief delay. Elon Musk announced on X (formerly Twitter):
“Apologies to those expecting Cybertruck deliveries in California over the next few days. We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity. A new truck will be delivered end of week.”
Because of the devastating fires that have destroyed much of Los Angeles and crippled internet access, Tesla has temporarily repurposed some of the newly produced Cybertrucks as emergency power stations. While you may not receive the exact truck originally earmarked for you, Musk promises a fresh delivery by week’s end. In the meantime, these vehicles are helping restore essential connectivity in the hardest-hit Los Angeles neighborhoods.
