In a bold move to win over the gaming community to the NFT market, French gaming giant Ubisoft has announced a partnership with Integral Reality Labs. Their plan? To offer fans of the Assassin's Creed series a unique collector's item, based on non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
The collectible will be a part of the "Digital Souls" series, each representing the character Ezio Auditore, one of the most recognizable figures in Ubisoft's gaming history. The NFTs are contained within a transparent cube equipped with an NFC chip, allowing for digital identification.
Owners of these NFTs will be able to personalize their Ezio figurines, including his pose, weapons, and costume, before printing them with a 3D printer. The items can then be enjoyed both virtually, through a linked app, and physically.
Ubisoft's previous attempt to enter the NFT market was met with tepid response from the gaming community. This time, with the power of a popular character from Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft aims to change that narrative. However, only time will tell if Ezio Auditore's soul trapped in an NFT cube will ignite a new wave of popularity for NFTs among gamers.
