Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht has spoken for the first time since his release under a full pardon from Donald Trump. Ulbricht, 40, was sentenced in 2015 to two life terms plus 40 years over his role in the notorious online marketplace, which prosecutors say facilitated $183 million in illegal drug sales via Bitcoin.
In a video posted on X, Ulbricht thanked Trump for keeping his promise and granting him clemency, saying he had been “locked up for more than 11 years.” Now free, Ulbricht called it a “victory for anyone who loves freedom and second chances.” He plans to spend time with his family and promised further updates soon.
What do I think about it? I am pretty happy!
