I Bought 100 Pokemon Cards! How Much Have I Earned?

It’s really hard to hide my fascination with Pokemon. I love almost all Pokemon games. Collecting Pokemon cards is kind of my thing too. For me as a collector, the best moment in my life is when I open a new fresh pack of cards. Before I do it I have no idea what is inside. It really gives a kick of excitement! Today I am taking you on the journey where you open them with me. Buckle up!

Super short info:

I am not a financial advisor. This video was created for entertainment purposes only. The content of the video and the article is not financial advice.

During the opening of the packages let’s talk about another aspect of buying Pokemon cards. You may hear or you may not, that some of them were sold for over a million dollars! Million dollars for a small piece of paper. This may sound like a joke but I assure you it is not.

Let’s answer the question of what this video is about. My purpose is to check if you can earn money on freshly bought Pokemon cards. Would it be a good investment? To make it I bought 10 packages of cards. Every package contains 10 cards. So, overall we have 100 Pokemon cards.

Now we have all of them opened. I learned from my little experience, that new cards which look very ordinary are worth nothing. After separating the cards we got 16 cards, which may be worth some dollars.

Just look at them. Aren’t they marvelous? Now it’s time to check how much we can get by selling these cards. To find out the prices I am going to do a little research on ebay. Ok everything is ready!

Let’s quickly check out all the prices.

We are ready to sum it up. The worth of the cards is 14.10$. For all the packs I paid 32.57$. At first glance, you can see that I lost 18.47$. This absolutely wasn’t a good investment. But I am not going to sell the cards now. I will keep them. Maybe in 20 years, their value will be much higher. What do you think about my experiment?
