We live in a really weird world. The world where simple concepts are incomprehensible. Unfortunately, this situation is used by politicians to manipulate and tearing people to achieve their own agenda. One of those lies is a famous adage: “Immigrants steal jobs”. First of all, this sentence is a fallacy. At this point we should stop analyzing it. But for the sake of giving, there are more arguments against this silly perception; let us go further.
This is the first question we have to ask in order to understand the basics of economy. First of all, the reason is because they just like it. That is simple, right? The second reason is because they want to get or achieve something. For example: your mom bakes some bread. Her goal is to eat tasty bread. But what happens when she does not like baking but rather weaving? Then she weaves an amazing piece of fabric and sells it. With the earnt money she goes and buys a nice loaf of bread. Everybody is happy. Another example: you are a shop assistant and you really, really want to have a new iPhone. For the money you get from your job you buy your dream phone. Analyzing those situations you can notice, that whenever an exchange of goods has taken place, it is motivated by a need. Congratulations, you have just learned more about economy, than 99% of people will ever know. Even those who graduated in economics at university. Right now, you can honestly say, that you belong to the intellectual elite of the world. No kidding.
Now, look at this amazing graphic:
More immigrants generate more needs. The needs generate more jobs. This is simple as that! Of course, it will work only on free market in capitalism. Please, with the knowledge I gave you never say, that immigrants steal jobs. Don’t make a fool of yourself.
